WHAT IS YOGA?
Hatha Yoga is an ancient practice designed to cultivate serenity, health and a feeling of vitality and aliveness. It is a complete practice, building physical, mental and emotional stamina and stability through a combination of movement, stillness and awareness. YOUR YOGA There are many ways to teach yoga and many styles to choose from. In class, the focus is on awakening your own awareness of your body and personal well-being. Each class encourages you to find your place in each pose, working with your body, and not against it. Experience, and the history of your body, will be considered so that you develop not only a personal relationship with yoga, but an understanding of your body, enabling you to build fitness and flexibility at a pace that best suits you. |
MEDITATIVE RELAXATION
Every class concludes with a guided relaxation, allowing you to experience stillness of mind and body. This also provides the body with deep rest after the vigour of moving in the postures, and enables integration of the work that has been done. BREATHING FOR RELAXATION Each class includes a breath awareness practice that brings you to an understanding of your breathing habits and how they influence your state of being. Breathing practice enhances your natural state of calmness and it is taught in a nurturing, relaxed way. |
