I have been practicing yoga for over 25 years. Over that time, I have experienced many different styles and approaches. As with millions of others, I have felt the physical, psychological and emotional benefits of yoga. Yoga can improve your strength, flexibility and general health, and also foster a subtle shift towards greater body-mind awareness and a foundation of inner calm. In addition, there are aspects of yoga philosophy that are still practical today. The principles of pranayama (breath control), pratyahara (inner awareness) and dharana (focus) are increasingly relevant in our highly social, overstimulated culture. Yoga encourages the practitioner to value the quality of stillness. In keeping with my diverse experience, I favour an eclectic mode of teaching, complementing traditional Hatha yoga with some Tai Chi and Tibetan practices. I look forward to sharing with you the many benefits of practicing yoga. |
